You are hereby invited to attend the 2nd phase of the Global Exporter Passport Programme (GEPP) – Planning for Exports scheduled as follows:

The training will be delivered over four days, covering the following topics:

  • Conduct market research to amass data from external sources and within the company.
  • Competitor analysis.
  • Investigate the existing import infrastructure of the target market country.
  • Air, rail, harbour and road, distribution networks, banking and financial, e-commerce and communications networks.
  • Development of strategies, including: market entry strategy, product strategy, pricing strategy, promotion strategy, distribution strategy.
  • Development and management of an export marketing plan.

The ECDC in partnership with SAFLEC (South African Footwear & Leather Export Council) will be hosting a Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS) Application to:

ECDC and SAFLEC are in the process of applying for Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS) funding for the above mentioned show. This funding will cover the following costs for exhibitors, applicable to a turnover of under 25 million or 51% Black owned.

  • 100% of the costs of return flights;
  • 100% of the costs of ground transport;
  • 100% of the rental of the stand;
  • 100% of the cost of accommodation;
  • 100% of the costs related to the transport of the product to trade show and back – maximum 30 kg;

Kindly ensure that Valid original tax clearance is sent through to ECDC along with your BEE certificate. If you are a small company and do not have you BEE certificate, please complete the attached affidavit and send this through with your application.

Please note that due to the influx of applications normally received, applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and will be dependent on accuracy and completion of documents required and a curation process. Proof that you have an export strategy in place is required.

Kindly note approved companies will be required to pay a R3000.00 administration fee. This amount will only be payable once the DTI has approved the funding and your company name is included on the approval letter.

 

Closing date for all applications is Wednesday, 30 January 2019.
